Welcome to Heroes Herald Mythology News, a newsletter featuring the adventures of Greek gods and goddesses. We are a Language Arts class at Kyrene de las Brisas Elementary in Chandler, AZ. In order to learn more about Greek Mythology, we went on a Virtual Field Trip around the Internet to various sites which introduced the myths of the ancient Greeks.

Using the new knowledge we gained, we wrote short news reports about the adventures and misadventures of Greek gods and goddesses. These articles are combined in a newsletter format. Click here to read Heroes Herald.

Teachers, if you are interested in helping your students learn more about Greek mythology, check out our Virtual Field Trip. The learning goals of this unit are:

• Students will learn the origins of Greek Mythology.
• Students will understand the importance of mythology to ancient peoples.
• Students will be able to explain the influences Greek Mythology plays in art, science, and language.
• Students will explore Greek myths and myths from other cultures and make comparisons among the myths.
• Students will write a description and illustrate an original mythological creature.
• Students will create a newsletter containing information about mythological beings and create an original god or goddess.
