Primary Level Literature Packet

 

Required components:

 

v    Unit Cover - Book title, author, student names, school, and date

v    Vocabulary List - Select between 12-25 vocabulary words:

          List only (including page reference)

          Worksheet: Quiz, Fill-in, or Scramble

          Answer sheet

v    Literary Section - include at least two

          Give a prompt or a question about:

                    Setting

                    Characters

                    Plot

                    Author's use of language

          Also include an example of the kind of response expected

v    "Thinking Cap" Section

          Minimum of 20 questions and response prompts

                    "Fat" questions - worthy of discussion

                    Requiring inference, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation

v    End-of-Book Activity - suggest at least two, include specific criteria

v    Fun Sheet - minimum of one

          Crossword plus answer key

          Word Search plus answer key

          PowerPoint or “Hot Potatoes” interactive quiz

v    Internet Connection - at least one link plus questions or suggested activities
