F is for Friction
In the book Chasing Redbird Zinny, the main character, meets up with many unfortunate events in her life. These events include; her Aunt dying, being confused and angry with a boy, and having her sisters make fun of her behind her back. This book's main conflict is between Zinny and all of the people that cause her unhappiness. Zinny also has friction inside of herself with all of the feelings that occur in her life. She has to deal with losing a closely loved aunt, which would take great effect on anyone's life. There isn't really one main conflict in this story. It is more about the conflict of life, and not only the bad, but also the good events that occur. Zinny has much to deal with in her life. She has a crazy uncle, many brothers and sisters, making a noisy surrounding, parents who sometimes don't know which child is which, and Jake Boone, who confuses her by not knowing if he likes her for her, or if he likes her because he likes May, Zinny's sister. I admire Zinny for the things she puts up with, and I'm sure everyone will admire her when they read this book.

I is for Ideal
The ideal of this story is to live life as best as you can, and try your best to understand the confusing things. In the beginning of the book there was a metaphor about spaghetti and meatballs compared to life, I think the author is correct. In life you have to struggle through the turns, but in the end you end up with a wonderful meatball. This message is a true key to opening a part of our mind and heart we may have never used. We have to realize that nothing and no one is perfect. We also need to realize that when we try our best to understand, and we are still confused, it's all right. Not everyone can understand everything. Zinny didn't understand what Jake Boone was doing at the beginning of the story, but then she realized the true answer. I do not understand why I can't do some things I want to do while my friends can, but later in life when I have children, I might understand the concern my parents have for me. This message has taught me many things that I'm sure I'll use later in life, and is a book that I will never regret reading.

C is for Characters
In the book Chasing Redbird the main character is Zinnia (Zinny) Taylor. Zinny demonstrates lots of hope and courage in this book. Zinny is always striving toward one of her courageous goals. I admire Zinny for this wonderful characteristic. This is not one of the characteristics that people have, it takes lots of hope and patience for this quality. Another main character is Jake Boone. Zinny, in part of the book, misunderstands Jake Boone. I admire Jake because he was willing to express his true feelings for Zinny, which would be hard for him considering he's three years older. Zinny gives lots of potential in this book by her unique personality. She shows heart for other people in helping them as much as she can. I admire her patience, which is what many of us lack. If we do not have patience, we will always be mean and frustrated. Is being frustrated all of the time really how we want to live our life? I think not. Zinnia is a hero to me and I'm sure to many other people by her amazing personality. She is adventurous, which makes a wonderful book; and that is what this book is; wonderful.

T is for Title
The title of this book, Chasing Redbird is what Zinny's Uncle Nate does after her Aunt Jessie dies. Uncle Nate's nickname for Aunt Jessie was "Redbird", and when she dies he "sees" her, he tries to chase after her, but she goes away. I think that this title can relate to the book message by its purpose. When Uncle Nate chases his "Redbird" he is chasing his desire, and everyone has desires. Whether your desire is a dead loved one, an ice cream cone, an outfit you want to buy, or anything else; they're all the center of our attention. We want our center of attention more than anything else, and I think that goes along with the message. This message that no one can have everything they want, but even after all of the work, we might not get exactly what we intended to get, but we might get something better than an object; we will get the feeling of accomplishment of doing extra chores to earn money. The good feeling of when someone opens and loves the present you gave them; and that feeling is much more important than an object to me. It is important that we are considerate and giving to others in our life. If you have been a good person and if you have done your best in making other people feel good, then your life is completed with love.

I is for Imitate
The author of this book, Sharon Creech, has written this book so that you want to keep reading about the conflicts in the story. This story has been written about Zinnia's life and all of the events that happen. One of the main events is with Jake Boone. You always want to keep reading to see if Jake is really deceiving Zinny, like she thinks, or if he really does like her. The author made the character Jake so that he does not actually admit that he really likes Zinny in the beginning of the story, but he always seems to hint at it. Sharon Creech did well in writing the style of this story by stretching on the on-going event with Jake, so that you never want to put the book down. This book doesn't have much more conflict other than this, but there are small events that effect Zinny's life. For instance: the beagle that Jake stole and gave to Zinny, she had to have respect and courage to give back the dog; and that is a wonderful character that the author made to want you keep reading about Zinny. Zinny has a very exciting life, and Sharon Creech made very interesting characters, making a very interesting plot, making a very interesting story.

O is for Organization
This story always stays in the present, it never has flashbacks. It is told sequentially. I personally find it interesting when there are flashbacks, but I personally loved this book. This book always talked about Zinny and the next thing that happened. This book hooked me from page one by interesting me in Zinny, the main character. Her personality amazed me so much of how it was so random and different. She has so many different sides to her personality. She has her kind and loving side, then she has her curious and adventurous side, then she has her hotheaded side, and finally she has her unique and mysterious side. I have enjoyed this story because it has made me interested from the first page to the last.

N is for New or Novel
This book is different because we realize that Zinny really is kind and loving, though when we first read about her, she seems stubborn and rude. It makes us grow to love the character of Zinnia and it helps us decide what kind of people we want to be surrounded with. We can find out who we want to know by hearing about a character that has different personalities. Different books can help us realize what the rest of our life might be like and who we want to be around, and who we want to know for the rest of our lives by giving us examples of personalities. These personalities could help us determine which personalities we want our future friends to have. I know that I have taken this into consideration. I think if more people think deeper about how a book can help their life, then we can have a better life, and have better friends. I believe that reading is a true key to a better life.
