The flag is the symbol of our national unity it shows how much we care for the whole nation. Without the American flag we would not have a symbol of our National courage. We are proud of it and unlike other countries it shows what we are all about FREEDOM FOR ALL . We wouldn't be as strong as we are today. Most people don't understand the fact that our flag is what keeps our pride. It is a sign of freedom, peace, and liberty. Without it we would be nothing. It reminds us of the land we live in and above all it means everyone is free to act in his or her way.
Did you know that it is a legal crime to pledge the allegiance to another flag? Or another example would be that there are certain days that you have to show the flag if you have one (not many people know that). The days are: New Year's Day, January 1 Inauguration Day, January 20 Lincoln's Birthday, February 12 Washington's Birthday, third Monday in February Easter Sunday (variable) Mother's Day, second Sunday in May Armed Forces Day, third Saturday in May Memorial Day (half-staff until noon), the last Monday in May ,Flag Day, June 14 Independence Day, July 4, Labor Day, first Monday in September, Constitution Day, September 17 Columbus Day, second Monday in October Navy Day, October 27 Veterans Day, November 11 Thanksgiving Day, fourth Thursday in November Christmas Day, December 25 and such other days as may be proclaimed by the President of the United States the birthdays of States (date of admission) and on State holidays. (We advise you that if you have any intentions to destroy the flag please read and we may change your mind).
The flag should never touch the ground at any time and is always treated as if it were a person. If it does touch the ground it shall be legally burned in a ceremony by veterans as a respect towards keeping the flag in the National way.. While reciting the pledge you shall remove all head dressing unless you are in an army that serves for the country in any way such as the Navy Air Force etc. If you are in a military program and you are in uniform you shall remain silent for the pledge.
Have you ever wondered how to fit that big flag into that little triangle box? Fold the flag width-wise twice. Fold up a triangle, starting at the striped end…and…repeat until only the end of the union is shown. Then fold down the square into a triangle and tuck inside the folds. Now you know how to fold a flag. The thing that seems to make sense what showing a flag is having the state in which you are be higher because it shows the community pride. Guess what that is completely wrong. You are in America so U. S. comes first. If you see this it is a crime.
