Jesse Owens
by: Christine

When James Cleveland was born in a farm, he and his ten brother and sisters, who were Ida, Lillie, and Josephine were the sisters. The brother were him, Prentice, Johnson, Henry, Ernest, and Quincy. They were planting crops to survive in the winters for their hungry mouths.. He grew up, and went to school at Cleveland East Technical High School. He became a track star as a senior, and tied the world record in the yard-dash with a time of 9.4 seconds. Then, Jesse wanted to join the Olympics. He tied the record once again, and won four more gold medals all in one day. He died at age 66, but got the medal of freedom in 1976 before he died of cancer.

I had written letters about Jesse Owens to Josephine that are fictional, but contain real facts about Jesse Owens only.
