Martin Luther King

Written and researched by Jillian

His adventure started on January 15, 1929 when he was born. Martin Luther King was a Civil Rights movement leader. He is well known for his famous “I have a dream speech”, and his outstanding Birmingham jail letter. In his child hood he had to go to different schools the whites, he had to drink from different water fountains then the whites etc. He wasn't even allowed to see his friends because he was black and they were white. He and his wife, Coretta Scott King had four kids. He is the leader of many boycotts, marches etc. Many people look up to him. Sadly James Earl Ray shot him on April 4, 1958. He was honored a stamp with his picture on it. He now is remembered as a brave, kind person for all the breath-taking things that he did to help the blacks gain their freedom.
