  Daniel "Chappie" James Jr., the flight leader of the 12th Bomber Squadron in World War II (which is the current time in this informational packet), is stationed in Korea when he gets a letter from a student at the school he went to, Tuskegee University. The student, Shay "Shan" Fionetositosit, is writing a report on Daniel James Jr. Shan grew up in Kentucky and had trouble growing up, being bullied by people calling him “blacky” and “jet black" and he was publicly embarrassed 4 times In ways you don’t want to know.

Ignore your friends when they say you can't because you’re Black.

Go to Tuskegee and get a degree in physical education and learn to fly.

Join the segregated United states Army Air Corp.

Become second lieutenant in WWII.

Become flight leader of the 12th Bomber squadron.

Be nicknamed the “Black Eagle”.

Be classified as an all weather jet fighter pilot.

Fly a McDonnell-Douglas F-4C Phantom in Thailand.
