Benjamin Oliver Davis Jr.

Benjamin Oliver Davis Jr. was born on December 18, 1912 and died on July 4, 2002. He endured much prejudice at West Point where he graduated in 1936 and was then assigned to Fort Benning in the same year. In 1941 his goal was achieved  and admitted into the Air Corps, but nine years later he was made chief of the Air Defense and Operations. In 1959 he became the first Black Major General, in 1965 he was was made lieutenant general and Air Force Chief of South Korea, and finally retired in 1970. Benjamin Oliver Davis Jr. was a great man and will always be remembered.

Apply for the Air Corps and get turned down because of segregation
Get assigned to Fort Benning
Fight to have Blacks in the Air Corps
Win and go there yourself
Become a Tuskegee pilot
Become a pilot hero
Retire in 1971
