Heroes of Black American History
Presented by Mrs. Sunda's 4th/5th Grade
Gifted Resource Class

Welcome to our research project on Heroes of Black American History. The fourth and fifth grade students in Mrs. Sunda's Gifted Resource class at Brisas Elementary each researched a famous Black American. We selected important role models from the fields of Science, Civil Rights, Sports, Military, Education, and Literature. Using the information gathered from the search, the students wrote a series of letters which contain biographical information about the person. The students also wrote  "How to be ..." poems to accompany their letters. To view the biographies, click on the photo images above or on the names of these Heroes of Black American History:

Thank you again for visiting with us. We hope you learned something about these courageous and inspiring heroes.
