Rembrandt Van Rijn was born in Amsterdam, Holland on July 15,
1606. There were many deaths in his life, such as Saskia who died from a
disease. His family was rather large for a small part of Rembrandts
life. He had 4 children but only one Titus survived infancy. This is
Rembrandts family after his three other children died. His wife Saskia, his son
Titus, and his 2nd wife Hendrickje.
The focal point of this painting is the patient. Rembrandt used dark colors but he also used light to show the faces of the people. Rembrandt meant for the painting to be action packed. There are young people in the painting but there are also old people in it too. The scene is a asymmetrical scene and has shallow space. The lightness of the painting is in the center and the darkness of the painting is in the left bottom corner. The painting shows emotionalism such as sadness. Rembrandt Van Rijn lived to be 63 years old. He painted up to the end of his life. When he died he left an unfinished painting called The Simeon Temple. The most important thing about Rembrandts paintings is the people in them and the way they show emotionalism. Rembrandt was the greatest artist of all time. Researched and written by Jake G.
