| Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) |
Building relationships among staff, students, families, and the community is the focus of the AMS Parent, Teacher, Student Organization (PTSO). Our goals are to:
*support the school staff,
*involved community members in school,
*reinforce that parents and the community care,
*build relationships for the early adolescent years, "the wonder years",
*provide opportunities for parents and community members to participate,
*and support school goals.
General meetings and PTSO sponsored events are held throughout the school year.

| Vision Decision Team (Site-Based Council) |
The Vision Decision Team is Akimel A-al's site-based council. The VDT is comprised of four parents. four teachers, and one support staff member. Mr. Brodersen, Principal, and Mr. Epstein, Assistant Principal, serve as advisors for the group.
The Vision Decision meets regularly throughout the year. Meetings are open to the public . Dates and summaries of the meetings are included in issues of the Rattler Tales. |
| Highlights |
| The PTSO sponsors A-Mart, the school store. A-Mart is open before school and sells various school supplies and fun items. "A-Mart-on-a-Cart" can also be found out at lunch on many days. Exact hours will be announced. A-Mart is run by AMS Student Services Secretary, Geri Dempsey. |
