Image Map  

Definition:  Creating a picture that is linked to more than one page.

From File:  select New Page

Find a picture you want to use following the guidelines we talked about in class.  Save the picture in your images file in your namewww folder.

Drag the picture onto the new page

Then to make the image map

Click on the picture

From the picture toolbar which appears click one of the hotspot tools and draw a shape on the picture. 

As soon as you let go of the left mouse button the linking dialog box appears.

Link the hotspot to the page it is to go, then OK. 

Save and check it out in Preview.

Note:  If you draw several hot spots on a picture you can click Highlight Hotspots Button to blank out the picture and show the hotspots, so you can check for overlap.
