Creating your
website
Set
up file in your ID # folder called the first 4 letters of your last
namedweave (example: schmdweave )
Go to File:
New Folder and call the folder images.
Close the
window.
Opening Dreamweaver
Go
to Start: All Programs: Macromedia: Macromedia DreamWeaver MX
A blank file will appear. If the tranlucent blue design screen pops up, just close it.
In the Site
Panel click on Define a Site. The site dialogue
box opens and asks you a series of questions.
What would you like to name your site. Answer: the first four letter of your last name and dweave (example: schmdweave ) |

Do you want to work with server technology? Answer: No you do not |

How do you want to work with your files during development? Answer: Choose Edit local copies on my machine, the upload to server when ready (recommended) And Where on your computer do you want to store your files? Answer: Click on the folder and select your ID # file> Select |

How do you connect to your remote server? Answer: Local/Network is the default and you want that and What folder on your server do you want to store your files in? Answer: Click on the folder and choose your ID # file. Select. |

Do you want to enable checking in and checking out files? Answer: No you do not |

| The information on your website will appear. Click Done. |
Saving your page
Go
to File:
Save As and type index.htm as the file name.
If your computer does not automatically move to your folder namedweave,
then browse to that folder.
