What Makes Pueblo
Unique
Pueblo
P.E. engages their students in a variety of activities that
are not only a lot of fun, but they provide a great workout
too!
Fitness Lab: The Fitness Lab, built by Ms. C., will
teach students how to use a weight room. Children will learn
the proper etiquette for a gym setting as well as the proper
safety precautions when handling weights.
Ropes:
Pueblo is one of the fortunate middle schools that still
have climbing ropes. Students are provided with multiple
rope activities that they can chose to participate in
depending on their comfort level. They can choose to swing,
climb, hang, etc… The Pueblo P.E. staff takes pride in the
safety rules they have taught their children to make sure
that rope climbing is a fun, enjoyable, and a safe activity.
Rock Wall:
Pueblo’s rock wall is a great way for kids to experience a
full body workout in an exciting way. The rock wall can be
made as simple or as challenging as students want. Whether
climbing through obstacles or doing basic upper and lower
body moves, students will love climbing our rock wall.
Warm-up
tapes: In order to get the body ready for activity, we
make sure our students warm up before each class. This is
typically done using one of our warm up tapes designed by
Pueblo teachers to get muscles ready for P.E. The tape
incorporates various moves that mix cardio, flexibility,
agility, balance, muscular strength and muscular endurance
workouts.
Fitness for
Life Text book: When students are unable to participate
in an activity due to injury or dress, they can learn from
one of our Fitness for Life Text books. The text focuses on
overall body health and also provides students a chance to
improve their reading and writing skills. |
