Philosophical Profile:
When I first came to Kyrene de la Paloma, it felt like a second home for many reasons. Many of the core values of our school are personal core values as well. The Paloma family is a caring community who honors education and places equal value and importance on the academic and behavioral development of children. This is a place where all staff members are teachers and we focus upon teaching and learning, throughout the day, no matter our role or position. We are continuous learners and positive role models for young children. We maintain a physically and emotionally safe climate where children know they can trust their peers to treat them respectfully. We actively engage children in self-assessing their behavior and taking responsibility for their actions. Student achievement and manners are important to us. Students receive a quality education in a caring environment which recognizes individual differences and learning needs. The current partnership between an extremely talented, dedicated staff and a continuously supportive parent population is inspirational to me.
I view myself as a “hands-on” principal who is visible and actively engaged with student learners throughout any given week. It is my desire to foster collaboration and involve students, staff and parents in the leadership of the school. I aim to be accessible and open to all feedback which only increases our efficiency and effectiveness as a school team. I do not take lightly, the responsibility of caring for your children or leading a staff for inspiring student learning. I celebrate the opportunity to lead Paloma.
