First Grade Music - 36 hours per school year

Students will be evaluated on their skills and knowledge.

They will also demonstrate their work in a concert.

Large variety of percussion instruments Large variety of bar instruments (Orff instruments) keyboards guitars and ukuleles autoharps voice and body percussion

Beat patterns using hands and feet Simple rhythm pictures (quarter notes, eighth notes, and quarter note rests) All the pitches from the major scale Pitch patterns in music Various song accompaniments Loud and quiet sounds Fast and slow sounds Heavy and light sounds Sounds that express ideas or emotions Voice and instrumental performing techniques Classical music with its special instruments Folk music from around the world with its special instruments
