Measurement

Study of measurement in first grade includes using standard and non-standard units:

  • Temperature&emdash;degree
  • Clock time&emdash;time to the hour and half hour
  • Length&emdash;explorations with inches, feet, yards, meters

Patterns

  • Identify and explain patterns using shapes, designs, and numbers
  • State a rule about a pattern (example: red, blue, yellow; red, blue, yellow; red, blue, ______)
  • Identify the pattern in skip counting
  • Determine the next number in a skip counting problem
