Fourth and Fifth Grade Students

2002-2003

My name is Alexandra, but you can call me Alix. And yes I know that I just spelled my name different but I kind of changed it when in fourth grade, all of the teachers got me confused with all of the other Alexes in the class. I like school a lot, but some of the classes bore me <I have trouble paying attention in those classes. > But other Classes like Reading and Science; those are my favorites. I'm really good in those classes. And as for sports, I've got a few that I really enjoy as in Gymnastics, which is my favorite sport. I'm in the third level, but unfortunately I only get to practice gymnastics 2 to 3 times a week .

 Arielle: Hi, my name is Arielle. I'm going to tell a little bit about myself.  I have three bothers. One has autism (Andy). The other Two (Aaron and Alex) are just annoying sometimes. I like to play basketball with the YMCA Comets. My favorite basketball team is the Boston Celtics. I was born in Boston, Massachusetts and moved to Arizona when I was four. Arizona is fun, yet so hot! My favorite baseball team is the Diamond Backs. I like to go on the computer and go on the internet.  Watching TV. is fun for me. I have two dogs. Pepper and Buddy are their names. Their breed is miniature schnauzer. I talk a lot! People say I talk too fast. My favorite foods are pizza and chocolate. When I Grow up, I want to become a veterinarian because I love animals, especially dogs. My favorite season in Arizona is spring because the weather is just right, we have spring break, good movies come out, and you get to see so much green. This is some information about me.

Beth: I am 11 years old. I have one brother, one sister, and a mom and dad. I was born in Alberta, Canada, but I moved here when I was two. I am in fifth grade now. I go to Kyrene del Norte and this is my last year here at this school. I live in Tempe, Arizona. I have three dogs. I have a Dachshund named Prancer, a Vizsla named Chip, and a Terrier mix named Sandy. I also have three gerbils named Rusty, Dusty, and Star. My three horses names are Chrissy, Boomer, and G.T. Chrissy and Boomer are Morgans, and G.T. is an Arabian.  I like it here a lot because it isnít too cold. Sometimes it can get too hot during the summer and you have to stay inside or youíll get burned. My favorite authors are Tamora Pierce and J.K. Rowling. I like them because I like their books. Right now I am reading Wolf-Speaker by Tamora Pierce. My favorite season is summer because there is no school and you can do what you want and rest your brain. I enjoy riding horses and bowling. My current teacher is Mrs. Warren. I like her a lot and I canít wait to go to Kyrene Middle School (KMS). At the end of the year we go on a field trip that lasts all day and we go on Greyhound buses. That is all about me for now. 

Hi. My name is Cameron I have 3 brothers, 0 sisters, 2 parents and 1 dog. Kyrene del Norte is in the middle of Arizona in a desert valley. My favorite book is the Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. I like to play the drums. I was born in the desert region of Arizona. Our rivers are not like most rivers because our rivers are always dry. I don't have a favorite season because it is almost always summer. Our school has 434 students; our class has 22 students. 

 Chris: Playing baseball is my favorite sport because it's a fun sport. I'm ten years old. My favorite month is June because my birthday is in June. I also like dogs because they are cute. I have two dogs. My hobby is playing the computer. My grade is 4th grade. I have two older sisters; no brothers. I have one dad and one mom. I like to lie around the house and sometimes I just watch TV. Sometimes I like to read. I like to ski too.

Christian: Hi! My name is Christian.  I am ten years old, and I have a dog, mom, dad, and a brother.  I live in Arizona and go to Kyrene del Norte Elementary School; I'm in fourth grade.  Something that makes me different is I live in a pyramid.  Listening to music is a hobby, I especially  like hip hop and R&B.  Other hobbies are Football, Soccer-Futball, baseball, basketball, reading, and writing stories. My favorite foods are pepper steak, salmon, and chocolate.  My favorite series books are: Series of Unfortunate Events, and Harry Potter.  My favorite season is summer because it gets to 125 degrees Fahrenheit, so I could go swim in my pool.  This is just some of the stuff I am going to tell you, but all of it is true.

Drew: I collect Beanie Babies. I have three cats, two iguanas and a bunch of fish. My cat's names are, Shantung, (After the soft fabric) Gweniviere, after the princess, because she acts like a snobby, brat princess. My other cat's name is Mithra. My Dad's friend had to move to L.A. (Los Angeles) and he couldnít bring his cat along, so he gave her to my dad.   My favorite thing to do is ski. I'm really good, but it is hard to ski because I live in Arizona, (the desert.) My favorite season is Winter because it is not too hot and not too cold. I am 10 years old. I'm in fourth grade.

Hi my name is Garrett. I go the school  at Kyrene del Norte and I am in 5th grade, but this is my last year here. Next year I will go to KMS. I am 10 years old and my birthday is March 6th. I have one sister who is younger than me. Playing baseball is cool, and it is my favorite sport. I am on a team right now. My favorite food is a root beer float.
Hi, my name is Jacob. One of my hobbies is drawing. Another one of my hobbies is playing video games. My favorite season is winter, because I get to play in the snow, and I get to drink hot chocolate. My favorite book is Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. My favorite author is J.K. Rowling because she wrote all seven Harry Potter books even though there are only four soon to be five out. I like to use the computer to go on the internet and play games.   
Jhullian:  Yo, wasup. I'm Jhullian, your sports person. I'm the fastest runner in this school. I love basketball, football, and soccer. I also love swinging and painting. My favorite hobby is playing games on the computer such as Backyard Football. My favorite food is steak and rice. I live in a two-story house in regular Phoenix near Laveen. I'm 11 years old and five foot three or 1 1/2 meters tall. My favorite season is summer, because I get to go to the boys and girls club and play pool. I've lived in Germany for three years. I'm just your average kid, Jhullian.   
 Kenna: I'm 10 and in 5th grade. I have a brother, a mom, and a dad. I have a bunny named Coco, a dog-named K.C., and lots of fish. My favorite books are Because of Winn-Dixie, Lyddie, and Jip: His Story. My favorite subject in school is math. My hobbies are dancing, playing piano, singing, and roller-blading with my dog. After school I like to hang with my friends, well after homework of course. I like to take care of my next-door neighbor's dog, Kess. When I grow up I want to be a Lawyer, a singer, a professional soccer player, or a dance teacher, or even a home mom. My favorite seasons are spring and summer because spring has all these pretty flowers and it's not too hot. I also like the summer because that's when my birthday is; plus it's good to go swimming.
Kristin: I am eleven years old, in fifth grade and my favorite subject is Reading. When I'm working on the computer, I like to make Power Points. My house is not crowded, but that surprises me because there are seven of us. My mom, my dad, my sister Jamie, and my three pets. My pet's names are: my dog, Sierra, and my guinea pigs, Eowyn and Dixie. Dixie belongs to me, but Eowyn is my sister's. I like to write, read, and I love to hang out with my friends. My favorite sport is basketball, and my favorite team is the L. A. Lakers, even though I live in Arizona. My favorite Author is J. R. R. Tolkein, but my favorite book is Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry. My favorite season is spring, because it's really cool here during the spring. That's pretty much all there is about me.   

Maggie: I'm 11 and I'm in 5 grade. I have 4 cats, a turtle, and some fish. My favorite subjects are reading because we do a lot of computer work, math because it's easy, and language because we play games. My reading teacher is Mrs. Cress, and I'm glad she's my reading teacher. My math teacher is Mrs. Hatlelid,and she explains it, so it is easy. My language teacher is Mrs. Warren, and she makes up games so we can understand. My hobbies include reading, swimming, typing, track, and rock climbing. My favorite seasons are summer and spring, because they are good times for sports. I want to be a lawyer, singer, or a mom when I grow up.
 Matthew: My name is Matthew, as you can tell, and my favorite subject in school is math. I'm a fourth grader and I like it. Most of my friends are in the fifth grade. September 10, 1992 is my birthday and that means that I am 10 years old. Soccer is my favorite sport, and then comes basketball. When I get old enough I want to play in the English Premier League for soccer or I would want to play in the NBA. My favorite basketball player is Tracey McGrady on the Orlando Magic, and my favorite soccer players are Robino or Ronaldo who plays for Brazil. All of my teachers are nice and care a lot about the class. I have a very small dog named P.K. for Penalty Kick. She is a type of dog named a Yorkie-Poo for a mix of a Yorkshire terrier and a standard Poodle. Hope you learned a lot about me and my life, L8ER. 
Hi! My name is Noah  and I am 11 years old. I was born on December 25th, 1991. I was born and raised in Tempe, Arizona. I was born in the Desert Samaritan Hospital. I attend the school Kyrene del Norte and this is my last year here. Next year I will go to Kyrene Middle School. My sister, Katy, is 15, and she attends Marcos de Niza and my brother, Clayton, is 21 and he does not attend any school.
Hi, my name is Paul. I go to Kyrene del Norte Elementary school in Tempe, Arizona. I am in fourth grade and I am in a gifted reading classes. My house is 1/8 of a mile away from my school, so I can walk there every morning. I live with my mom and dad. I am an only child and I have a lot of friends. My favorite colors are turquoise, blue, red, gold, silver, and any metallic color that is not pink. My favorite food is pizza, my favorite dessert is chocolate-fudge-brownie ice cream, and my favorite drink is Vanilla Coke. My hobbies are biking and playing computer games. My favorite seasons are autumn and summer. In the autumn season there are a lot of leaves that fall off the trees. They can be red, brown, and yellow. In my back yard I have a mesquite tree and the leaves never change color. I like summertime because it is very hot. I can go swimming and have water gun fights.
Rachel: I am 10 years old. I was born in Huntsville, Alabama. I have lived in Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, and Arizona. I live in an apartment that has 2 bedrooms. Because I have a brother, then I canít have my own room. My brother's name is Joshua, my mom's name is Erin, and my dad's name is John. Some of my hobbies are playing piano, swimming, dancing, roller blading, exercising, reading, and writing. My favorite season is summer because there's No school, duh! My favorite author is Shel Silverstein. He writes poems about anything he chooses. My favorite book is The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe.

  Salina: I am ten-year-old fifth grader at Kyrene Del Norte. Reading and Art are my most favorite subjects. I have a mom, dad, brother, and a bunch of pets. Five fish, three dogs, a horse, a cow, and a bird. That's eleven pets! My fishís names are Morgan, Simon, Sunny, Leesha, and Theo, my horse's name is Megan, my cow's name is Blackie, My bird's name is Cisco and my dogís name is Mikalo {ME-kah-low}. My brotherís dogs are called Nala and Maya {MY- ya}. Mikalo is a tan Chihuahua, Maya is a Rotwieler- Labrador mix, and Nala is a Rotwieler- German Shepard mix, and all of the fish are Betas. My brother, Adrian, is seven. He enjoys building things, fixing things, making people laugh, playing with his dogs, and playing on the computer. My mother works at ASU {Arizona State University} as a payroll specialist and my dad works at the veteran hospital, but not as a doctor. My favorite music is Country. My favorite singers are The Dixie Chicks, Cher and more {there is too much too count}. My favorite computer games are Roller Coaster Tycoon, Zoo Tycoon, Sim City 3000, and Sim Theme Park. I love creating power points and stories on the computers. J. K. Rowling is my favorite author for writing the Harry Potter series.  Swimming is my favorite sport because it helps me get stronger, not to mention giving me sunburn S. Rock collecting is my hobby. I collect smooth rocks, rough rocks, shiny rocks, and dull rocks, etc.  I have even found a rock that had real gold in it at a canal. Summer is my favorite season, because it is hot and I get to swim at our pool. I also love the summer because I donít have to wear heavy clothing, and I get to have Summer Vacation! Well, now you know all about me!!!

 Hi, my name is Sudarshan and I'm 10 years old. I'm actually from India in culture, but I am born and brought up here in Tempe, Arizona U.S.A. I am now in 4th grade and I'm going to Kyrene del Norte Elementary. Playing sports is my favorite thing. But I also like watching it. One of my favorite authors is J.R.R Tolkien because he can imagine something really big and turn it into a fantasy. My favorite season is summer, because here in Tempe it's a desert and it doesnít snow here. And anyway school gets out in summer here in Arizona. My favorite animals are the desert owl and the diamond back rattlesnake. I am looking forward to doing this internet project.         
Thomas: Hi my name is Thomas, and I am a ten years old fourth grader at Kyrene del Norte. I am in the gifted resource class with the teacher Mrs. Cress. I live in Tempe, Arizona USA and love lots of things. Iím in a baseball league and made it into the majors that is the second before highest part of this league. I also wrestle at Marcos de Niza high school. My favorite Baseball team is the New York Yankees. Derrick Jeter is my favorite player on the team, but Mickey Mantle is my favorite of all time. I have three brothers and a dad. My mom died when I was five. We own three dogs, one is Mr. Blond, the other is Shamrock, and then our new puppy Gonzo.I have lots of friends, like my friend Hunter. My favorite season is summer because I was born July 2, 1992. Here in Arizona it is hot almost all year round, and we always wear shorts. My favorite animals are dogs and the cheetah. This is just some of the stuff I am going to tell you. but all of it is true.
        Valerie: Playing Basketball is my favorite hobby. Iím 10 years old, in 4th grade and doing this for my gifted class. I have three sisters, a mom and a dad. Also, I have two dogs, one brown Pomeranian named Precious and a white Chihuahua named Angel. Some of my hobbies are playing basketball, which my favorite team is the Phoenix Suns. Sometimes, once in a while, I will go dirt bike riding with my mom. Winter is one of my favorite seasons here in Arizona. It isn't as cold in the winter as other state; I like it the way it is. In my state, Arizona, it is very unusual for it to snow here. The lowest it ever was here was about 30-40 degrees Fahrenheit on the coldest days of the year. So when it's your summer  up north, that's like our winter.  Some of my favorite places for the summer are to camp up in Payson, Magic Mountain, Six flags, and Golf Land Sun splash. In Mrs. Cress' class we have done many projects on PowerPoint, Microsoft word, Excel, outlook, and some project on our websites. In art our school had made tiles into a face and put tiles on  chairs. Also we use many materials in art like oil pastels, clay, watercolors and markers. I have four specials in 4th grade. They are Music, P.E, Art , and Library. My favorite on is P.E, but I'm pretty good at drawing. My goal in life is to play in the WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association.) But for College I'm going to go to Harvard and get a degree to be a lawyer, once I retire from basketball.
Youny: I'm nine years old I'm in 4th grade. My favorite subject in school is Fun Friday!!! My favorite sports are Gymnastics, Swimming, jumping on the trampoline, also I like to shock people. Ha! Ha! Ha! I have a little sister who is 8 months old. She finally knows how to crawl. She almost knows how to walk. I have a little annoying brother who is 5 years old. I used to trick him about words, but now he can read ( a little though). I collect rocks. I have a front yard that is full of cool rocks. If you put them under water they look so cool. I'm Chinese, and it's no fun. You have to go to Chinese school on the weekends. Boo! Hoo! Well on very special holidays we get to have time off. Plus, it's almost summer anyway. That's mostly everything about me.
