Each year, the students of Kyrene de los Lagos generously collect food for the benefit of less fortunate individuals living throughout the Valley.  The food provided by the Lagos community is then donated to a local food bank organization.  More than ever, the children in our very own community are in need of assistance.  That is why we have chosen the Kyrene Family Resource Center (KFRC) as the beneficiary for our first food drive of the 2007-2008 school year.

Beginning October 22, our goal is to collect 1,200 canned or boxed food items that are in great demand at the KFRC.  We have approximately 565 students at our school.  Therefore, if each Lagos student brings in just 2 items along with some staff members, we will reach our goal with ease.  This is an amazing opportunity to educate our children about the benefits of helping those less fortunate than ourselves.
