Kyrene de los Cerritos is located in the Ahwatukee Foothills section of the Phoenix Metropolitan Area. We are an elementary school in the Kyrene School District. Cerritos is one of 19 elementary schools in the Kyrene School District. Kyrene utilizes Spanish and Indian names to help distinguish their schools from schools in the five cities/areas (Tempe, Chandler, Phoenix, Guadalupe and the Gila River Indian Community) where Kyrene schools are located. The translation for Cerritos is "little hills". The typical enrollment for Cerritos is around 800 students. Our student population is very stable. Cerritos opened in the fall of 1994. The school serves students in Preschool and in grades K-5 on a shared campus with Kyrene Altadena Middle School Altadena.
