What is a tax credit? |
Several years ago, the Arizona State Legislature passed a tax law (ARS 43-1089.01) that allows up to a $300 tax credit for married couples filing jointly and $250 for individuals, who make a donation to a public school to support extra curricular activities. A tax credit is a dollar for dollar reduction of your tax liability. |
Who can take advantage of this tax credit?
|
The law is set up so that any taxpayer may contribute to a public school, regardless of whether the taxpayer has a child attending school at Centennial. Corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships are not eligible for the tax credit. You must, however, be a taxpayer in the state of Arizona. The tax credit can be claimed on personal income tax returns only. |
How can you take advantage of this tax credit?
|
Simply write a check made payable to Centennial Middle
School. Mail or deliver the check to the Centennial office, attention
our School Secretary, Elizabeth Reynoso. You will receive a receipt
verifying your contribution to Centennial extra curricular activities. Receipts
are given for contributions of $5.00 or more.
