DRAMA CLUB
The first meeting of the Drama Club will be next Tuesday, Sept. 2 from 4-5 after school in the Drama room- D-1. We will elect officers and decide on a schedule for the rest of the semester. See Ms. Hensley Tuesday during lunch if you cannot make this first meeting.

LABOR DAY
We all look forward to our upcoming three day Labor Day weekend. On Monday, I ask you to take a moment to remember that this national holiday was created in 1884 to honor the workers who built this country, who worked in the factories, built the railroads that connected our country from coast to coast and continue today to labor to build a future for their families and our country. Take a minute to thank your parents, your grandparents and maybe even your teachers for working so hard.

There are a lot of extra curricular clubs available to Akimel A-al Middle students. Today is your opportunity to learn about and sign up for clubs at the AMS Activity Fair. It will be held in the gym during academic lab and lunch today.

Akimel A-al’s annual magazine drive fundraiser kicks off today with grade level assemblies in the gym. This is the school’s only school-wide fundraiser for the year and the proceeds are used to support extra curricular activities such as field trips and school socials. Participating students will also have an opportunity to win great prizes.

We have had quite a few students riding their bikes out of the bike compound and across the crosswalk. We want to remind you that your bike must be walked at all times while on the AMS campus and must be walked across the crosswalk.

AMS COLOR GUARD
The Akimel A-al Rattler Color Guard is looking for motivated students. Beginner and experienced students are welcome. Come give it a try! Coach Brittney will be here next Tuesday and Thursday after school from 4:00 PM until 5:30 PM and on Wednesday from 2:30-4:00 pm. We will begin each meeting in the Band Room. Interested students should try to make it to at least one meeting, but you may come to all three if you like. Tryout information will be shared at the meetings.

When purchasing a combo lunch from the cafeteria, you MUST take a milk, juice or piece of fruit.
ON CAMPUS
