INFORMATION FORM FOR STUDENTS WITH IEP’S

In order for us to process your open enrollment application, please submit a copy of your child’s current IEP (written within 1 year) and current Evaluation (written within 3 years) so that we can determine whether we can accept your child under the guidelines listed in our Governing Board Policy J-1050 JFB. (shown below and available online at www.kyene.org/oe).

Complete applications with IEP and Evaluation included will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis.  A staff member will notify you of your application status once these documents are received and program capacities are examined.  If we are unable to place your child, we will keep their name on a waitlist in case a spot should become available.

If your child has been dismissed from an IEP within the past 2 years, we will need to see an official form from the school showing dismissal.

The Kyrene School District is currently not able to consider applications for Preschool children or self-contained special education programs due to capacity restrictions.

Kyrene School District Governing Board Policy J-1050 JFB

In accordance with state law, the Kyrene School District has established and implemented an open enrollment program to admit nonresident students.  Acceptance into a school or program is based on whether there is capacity to serve the student without adversely impacting educational opportunities for resident students attending their resident school.  Factors which are considered in making this determination include, but are not limited to:

·         Physical capacity of the school building and classrooms

·       Availability of staff personnel (i.e., administrators, teachers, other certificated employees, related service providers)

·         Capacity in the relevant special programs

·         Availability of other resources
