Open Enrollment 
Kyrene welcomes all students to apply for enrollment. Open enrollment differs from general enrollment and is for families living outside the Kyrene School District boundaries OR families living within Kyrene boundaries who want to attend a school other than their designated home school.

Each year, open enrollment begins in January (for the school year starting in August) and continues throughout year. 
Open Enrollment applications are available below.

Apply for open enrollment
Applications will be processed on a first come first serve basis. Please call 480-541-1000 if you have not heard from us within two weeks.
 2016-17 Open Enrollment Application (School year begins on August 1, 2016
The following students must complete the open enrollment form:
 » In-district families wishing to have a boundary exception from their child’s home school to another Kyrene school
 » Out-of-district families requesting that their children be placed in a Kyrene school 
 » In-district families that move out of Kyrene School District boundaries and wish their child remain in a Kyrene school
 » Siblings of current students

Open enrollment is subject to, but not limited to, the following:
 » Space availability
 » Program capacities
 » Student status with another school district
 » Student status with the juvenile court system

Special Education students: If your child has qualified or received special education services within the past three years, please submit current IEP, and current evaluation with this application. You can submit documents to bdolinsek@kyrene.org, fax to 480-541-1815 or bring in person to District Office.

Current Open Enrollment students will automatically be placed in a class for next year. This includes students moving from 5th grade to a middle school. You will not receive a letter from Kyrene and you do not need to contact us.

Open enrollment procedures: In accordance with Arizona law, open enrollment is available to any student who lives within or outside of the Kyrene School District's boundaries. See Governing Board Policy for more information.

Kindergarten Program

Our Kindergarten program provides an education for the whole child. We offer a challenging and comprehensive academic curriculum and special classes including music and physical education.

Full-Day Kindergarten:
Available at all Kyrene schools and is offered to all children residing in and outside Kyrene School District.

Half-Day Kindergarten:
For school year (2011-12) will be offered at Milenio. 7:45 - 10:40 a.m. Mon, Tue, Thurs and Fri.
7:45 - 9:45 on Wednesdays

Early Entrance to Kindergarten:
For admission to kindergarten, we recommend that children be five years old before September 1 of the current school year. Children who are born between September 1 and December 31 may apply for early entrance. Informational meetings must be attended in order to apply.
