Parent Advisory Committee (NAPAC) Receives Award of Excellence
Arizona School Public
Relations Association recently honored NAPAC with an Award of Excellence
for Contributions to Public Education!! Congratulations and Thank
You for the outstanding commitment you have made to the children of the
Kyrene School District!!

We Shall Remain Essay Contest
The Native American Parent Advisory
Committee (NAPAC) is proud to sponsor an Essay Contest in celebration of
the ground breaking PBS miniseries We Shall Remain. We
Shall Remain is a provocative multi-media project that establishes
Native history as an essential part of American history. Five
90-minute documentaries spanning three hundred years tell the story of
pivotal moments in US history from the Native American perspective.
The Essay Contest is open to all Kyrene kindergarten through eighth grade
students and submissions are due by May 20, 2009. Prizes will be
awarded to the top three essays. Please
read the details and encourage your child to participate!

How Are Schools Funded?
Find out how Arizona schools are funded,
what challenges Kyrene schools face next year, how Kyrene spends its'
funds, and what Kyrene is doing to plan for the future. Special
guests Dr. David Schauer, Superintendent and Karin Smith, Director of
Business Services will answer your budget questions. This is a
cooperative effort of the Kyrene Parent Superintendent Council along
with Cielo, Sierra, Cerritos and Altadeña PTO volunteers.
