Help Your Child Do Well on Tests

AIMS testing begins March 30th and concludes April 17th. Please review your school newsletter for up-to-date information about testing dates and times.  Following are some suggested ways you can help your child do well on tests:

  • Talk with your child’s teacher often to monitor your child’s progress and find out what you can do at home to help your child.

  • Make sure your child does his or her homework

  • Make sure your child has regular attendance at school.

  • Make sure your child is well rested and eats a well-rounded diet.

  • Have a variety of books and magazines at home to encourage your child’s curiosity.

  • Don’t be overly anxious about test scores, but encourage your child to take tests seriously.

  • Don’t judge your child on the basis of a single test score.

Tell us what you think!

Please share your celebrations and suggestions with us! How are the current Native American Student Services programs and Native American Parent Advisory Committee serving your family's needs?  Please send your thoughts and suggestions for improvement to Terry to use as we plan 2009/10 services. Here are some questions to help get you started:

·         What are your top three priorities for Native American programming in Kyrene?

·         What services are provided that you like?

·         What services are provided that you think should change? How?

·         How do you think we could increase participation in the Native American Parent Advisory Committee meetings and events?  (What would encourage you to come?)

Thank you so much for providing your valuable input!
