We Need Your Input!

Please share your celebrations and suggestions with about how the Native American Student Services program and Native American Parent Advisory Committee is serving your needs!  Please send your thoughts to Terry. Here are some questions to get you started:

  • What are your top three priorities for Native American programming in Kyrene?

  • What services are provided that you like?

  • What services are provided that you think should change? How?

  • How do you think we could increase participation in the Native American Parent Advisory Committee meetings and events?  (What would encourage you to come?)

Thank you so much for providing your input!

It's National Hand Washing Awareness Week

How many times have you heard your mother say "Did you wash your hands?"  According to the Centers for Disease Control, Mom was right: "Hand washing is the single most important means of preventing the spread of infection."  Washing your hands is the best way to stop the spread of germs that cause infections and illnesses like the flu.  Remember to always wash your hands: *Before eating or touching food; * After using the bathroom; * After sneezing or coughing; * After you come home from work, school, shopping.  Click here for more information and a video for school aged children.

Open Enrollment Begins for 2009-10 School Year
Arizona law requires schools districts to establish Open Enrollment policies and to enroll students who do not live in the attendance boundaries of the district.  This is one of a number of laws that provides educational choice for parents.

The Kyrene Open Enrollment Application will be available online beginning Thursday, December 18, 2008.  All applications will be processed beginning Monday, January 5, 2009.  Open Enrollment applications are processed on a first-come first-served basis, so interested applicants should not delay.

Current Open Enrollment students do not need to reapply.  This application process is designed for students who are new to Kyrene or for those who wish to attend another Kyrene school outside of their home school boundaries.

If you have family or friends who want to enroll in a Kyrene school, please tell them to apply online, or contact Bonny Dolinsek at 480-783-4175, for additional information.
