Dancers Performing TONIGHT at Mariposa!

Make sure to see this special performance of the Yellow Bird Indian Dancers at tonight's Kyrene de la Mariposa PTO Harvest Festival!  Dancers are scheduled to perform at 6:30 pm.  The Festival starts at 5:30 and also features games, bouncers, food and a Mariposa Choir performance.  Kyrene de la Mariposa is located at 50 E. Knox Road in Tempe (just South of Warner, between Kyrene and Rural Roads).

The Yellow Bird Indian Dancers is a family of nine: Ken Duncan, a full-blood Apache, is the father; Doreen Duncan, his wife, is from Arikara, Hidatsa and Mandan Nations; and their children (one girl and six boys) range in age from 1 to 20 years old. They received the Culture Keepers of Arizona Award representing the essence of American Indian culture: "The Family."  Some of their performances have included dancing for First Lady Laura Bush, and at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, the US State Department, and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

See you tonight at Mariposa!
