Welcome Back, Mountain Lions!

We hope all our families had a restful and fun Spring Break!  We are so glad to see all the smiling faces back at school and can't wait to catch up with you all about what's happening in the coming weeks.  It's going to be a fun spring as we round the corner toward the end of the year!  There are some great events happening this month and next and we hope you'll come out and join us in support of our school community.

Speaking of support..... YOUR PTO could not do what they do without the encouragement, time and talents offered by all of our amazing volunteers.  We are already looking for chair people for committees for next year as folks graduate and move on AND we are in GREAT need of two more volunteers for Board positions next year.  Our Treasurer position will be open and we would really love for someone to step into this role soon, so the baton can be passed successfully.  If you can balance your household budget, you qualify!  Also, a Co-President position still needs to be filled.  This person already has a current Co-President who is ready and waiting for their wing man to step forward!  What does a co-position mean?  It means information is passed along smoothly from year to year, it means you have a cohort with which to share the load and it means maximum amounts of fun!

If you are interested in learning more about a board position or committee chair position please email mvpto@mvpto.orgOR volunteer@mvpto.org to get your questions answered!

Student Store, 3/17:

The Student Store is happening this Friday from 7:00 to 7:30!  Items range from 50¢ to $2.00 and include pens, pencils and other useful and fun school supplies.  Proceeds benefit the 5th Grade End of Year Celebration.  Our younger students LOVE knowing that their purchases help fund this event for the 5th graders so remind them to bring their allowances and support their upperclassmen and their school this Friday!

Spirit Shirt Design Contest, NOW until 3/31:

Has your student ever wanted to see their artwork go walking around at school?  Here's your chance!  Tspirit.he KMV PTO is hosting the annual Spirit Shirt Design Contest!  Flyers went home with students today upon which they can illustrate their interpretation of Mountain Lion Spirit.  Deadline is March 31st and the winning design will be announced before the end of the school year and the designer gets  a free spirit shirt for next year!  Further details are outlined on the design form.  Feel free to submit any questions to mvpto@mvpto.org.

Spring Carnival is coming!  Saturday, 4/8, 11am - 3pm:

It's almost that time!  The KMV PTO sponsored Spring Carnival is happening 4/8 and is sure to be a fantastic time for the whole family!  Bounce houses, food trucks, games, petting zoo, DJ and the ALWAYS FABULOUS auction and raffle!  This event doesn't happen without the tireless efforts of the Spring Carnival Committee (and ALL their subcommittees) as well as the generous sponsorship and donations provided by our KMV parents and Ahwatukee community businesses.  Grade level baskets are always a big hit and if you would like to contribute items to your Mountain Lion's grade please see the following themes below and drop your items in the front office or with your child's teacher.  Kindly submit by 4/5/2017.
