60 Day Public Review
Sixty Day Review of Writing Instructional Materials for Exceptional Students
The process for public review of Step Up to Writing is now being initiated. According to Board Policy (I-5800 IJJ) instructional materials reviewed by a committee will be placed on display at the District Office for a period of at least sixty (60) days prior to the meeting at which the Governing Board will consider their adoption. The resources being considered are for exceptional students in Kindergarten to 8th grades.
The instructional materials under consideration will be on display for public review in the Exceptional Student Services Department. The Exceptional Student Services Department conducted a pilot with this program from November 2008 to current. It is being used in two middle schools and three elementary schools. Teacher feedback has been favorable.
60 Days beginning:
February 2 - April 27, 2009 | Monday – Friday | 8:30 am - 4:00 pm.

A recommendation for adoption will be made at the Governing Board meeting on April 28, 2009 after the conclusion of the public review process.
