Message
from Dr. Menconi
Dear Kyrene
staff:
While
Kyrene is changing like so many districts across the
nation, I would like to take this opportunity to thank
those of you who have worked toward and supported our
needed changes. This era of accountability is a
two-edged sword. While most of us in education
completely believe in being accountable for the learning
of our children, state and federal mandates have made
the climate that we work in far more demanding and for
the most part, more stressful.
I
would also like to assure you, that, contrary to an
editorial I saw recently, Kyrene has most certainly not
lost its "heart." The staff at Kyrene are the
heart of our district and that heart is pumping as
strongly and as compassionately as it always has. Each
of you makes coming to school each day a great
experience for all children. I know that you will
continue to do that, and do it well. That is Kyrene and
it always will be.
I hope
you had a wonderfully restful and enjoyable break.
Sincerely,
Maria
