MESSAGE
Welcome
Back
Dear Kyrene Staff:
Welcome
to the 118th year of learning in Kyrene! I
am thrilled to welcome back each of the incredibly
talented and devoted employees for another stellar
year. Kyrene has been and continues to be an
exceptional district that prides itself on preparing
our children for future educational and life
challenges.
For
those who are new to Kyrene, the Insider is a
weekly publication that provides important news
updates for Kyrene staff, highlights resources
available to employees, and celebrates
accomplishments with our colleagues.
For
questions or feedback about this publication, or to
submit content for possible inclusion in the Insider,
contact Communications Supervisor Johnny Cruz at jcruz@kyrene.org.
Warm
wishes for a
wonderful school year.
Sincerely,
Maria

TRAINING AND
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Structured English Immersion Endorsement
The Kyrene proposal for providing the first 15 hours of
the Provisional SEI Endorsement was recently approved by
the Arizona Department of Education. Kyrene will provide
this training monthly from September through May.
Make-up sessions will also be provided in June. These
trainings will be provided at no charge to Kyrene staff.
In addition to the district trainings, individuals have
the option of attending any state-approved training
offered by universities, colleges, training agencies or
independent trainers. At this time, we cannot guarantee
reimbursement for the cost of these trainings. The state
has made reference to reimbursement funds. Upon receipt
of funds, we will determine the possibility of
reimbursement for outside trainings. The Web
site will also include the list of universities,
colleges and independent trainers as they are approved
by ADE monthly.
