Kyrene School District comprises 26 schools (17 elementary, six middle, and three K-8). The District boundaries encompass all of Ahwatukee and parts of Chandler, Guadalupe, Tempe, and the Gila River Indian Reservation. Kyrene enrolls approximately 14,000 students in grades K-8 and offers preschool options on nearly all elementary school campus.
Open Enrollment
Families who live outside the district or school boundaries are required to be approved for Open Enrollment. When submitting an application for enrollment through the online portal, records are automatically routed for District action based on student address and school selected. Once the application is reviewed and, if approved, registration is then finalized by the school. If not approved, the District will reach out with alternative options, if available. This applies to new families who live outside of Kyrene boundaries, or families wishing to transfer a student to an out-of-boundary school.
