It is acceptable and safe for
students and staff to transport electronic files to and from school using
floppy disks and USB Flash/Jump drives because our network now has security
in place to scan these devices when in use:

- Floppy Disks - Whenever a floppy
diskette is inserted into a computer it
is immediately scanned for viruses.

- USB Flash Drives - Individual files on a
USB flash drive are scanned for viruses when they are opened.

| Please Note: Because
file sizes keep getting larger and the mechanical nature of floppy drives
makes them highly prone to failure our newer computers will not have floppy
drives. For these reasons USB flash drives should be the preferred media |
