Technology Enhanced Curriculum

Kyrene Teaches with Technology Project (KTTP)

The main initiative for technology integration in our classrooms is the Kyrene Teaches with Technology Project (KTTP). Technology is rarely the focus of instruction, rather it is a tool that is used to access, gather, and create information; organize and analyze information; and communicate ideas. KTTP is not a technology project, it is a curriculum project where technology is a catalyst for change. Our primary focus is not on having state-of-the-art technology, but how that technology effects the state-of-the-art education of our students.

Information Technology

Kyrene’s enterprise network and support systems enable highly productive work by staff and outstanding educational opportunities for students. Recent upgrades include a 100Mbit network from the central servers to each school, and to the Internet. This supports the myriad of web-based and network-based systems such as the student information system, the library management system, and the human resource/finance system.

Every Kyrene staff member and K-8 student has a unique log-on and password. They also have personal network storage space that is backed up nightly to maintain the security of work products. A variety of schemes for sharing work among users are also available. Content filtering and spam filtering systems are designed to provide a safe environment.
