Open enrollment is available to any student who lives within or outside of the Kyrene School District’s boundaries,
pending space and program availability.
We are currently accepting 2009-10 open enrollments. » Apply
Your application will be processed within two weeks and acceptance letters will be sent out in early February.
In-district families wishing to have a boundary exception from their
child’s home school to another Kyrene school should fill out an application. In-district families wishing to attend their home school can go directly to the school to enroll. You will need your child’s birth certificate, immunization records and a proof of residence.

Open Enrollment Policies
Kyrene School District offers open enrollment to all children in accordance with the 1994 Arizona law. Open enrollment is available to any student who lives within or outside of the Kyrene School District's boundaries.
The following students must complete the open enrollment form:

In-district families wishing to have a boundary exception from their child’s home school to another Kyrene school
»
Out-of-district families requesting that their children be placed in a Kyrene school
»
In-district families that move out of Kyrene School District boundaries and wish their child remain in a Kyrene school

Student status with another school district

Student status with the juvenile court system

Kindergarten Program
Our Kindergarten program provides an education for the whole child. We offer a challenging and comprehensive academic curriculum and special classes including music and physical education.
Free Full-Day Kindergarten is
available at all Kyrene schools and is offered to all children
residing in and outside Kyrene School District.
Half-Day Kindergarten for next school year (2009-10) will be offered at selected sites. Information for this will be available in January 2009.
Early Entrance
For admission to kindergarten, we recommend that
children be five years old before September 1 of the current school
year.
Children who are born between September 1 and December 31 may apply for early entrance. Informational meetings must be attended in order to apply.
